Grouping of 3 European Pottery Items: 1st item: Villeroy and Boch majolica serving tray decorated with three white lotus against pink background with green leaves around the border of the tray, flowers repeating on the handles. Stamped with Villeroy and Boch maker's mark. 1-1/2" H x 14-3/4" W. 2nd item: Majolica ovoid serving plate decorated with yellow flowers and green leaves. Markings on bottom consistent with English majolica, possibly Minton and Co. 2" H x 11-1/8" W. 3rd item: Castleford Pottery sugar bowl with lid, white with blue trimming, decorated with low reliefs of acanthus leaves and vining plants. Two cartouches of handpainted oriental figures in garden scenes. Tucked inside is an envelope from Marshall Field and Company, identifying the origin and presumed date of the bowl. Circa 1800. 4" H without lid (5" H with lid) x 5 1/2" W. Provenance: From the collection of Edward S. Thompson, formerly of Columbus, Ohio and Maryville, TN, deceased 1979, by descent to present owner. CONDITION: 1st item: Chips on handle and on the middle of one of the edges of the tray. 2nd item: Overall good condition. 3rd item: 1/4" flake loss on top edge of one rim scallop.
