Chinese Hawthorne or Prunus pattern lidded ginger jar with white blossoming prunus (plum) decoration on a blue background. Underside of lid with paper label reading "Collection Ponthier", possibly referring to collection of Oriental Arts formerly belonging to Fred Ponthier. Base marked with double blue concentric circles. Fitted with a hardwood stand. Jar measures 9 1/2" H. 11" H with stand. 19th century. Provenance: Estate of Catherine Hoolick, Knoxville, TN. CONDITION: Overall very good condition.
