An assortment of Chinese items, including an opium pipe with jade end and bronze bowl (8 1/4"L); embroidered silk pouch or case; bronze, iron and leather fire striker with bat design on bronze disc (3 7/8"L); and an Asian silk and ivory fan with printed figural landscape decoration (8 3/4"L), signed with seals. All items late 19th/early 20th century. Provenance: Purchased by the consignor's great-great grandfather, Herbert Bliss, who traveled in China and Japan at the turn of the 20th century, after his service in the Spanish-American War. CONDITION: Some slight tearing to back of leather on fire striker. Some light staining to right side of fan. Pouch missing one tassel, other tassel detached but retained.
