Late Meiji period silk embroidered panel by Nishimura Sozaemon (1855-1935) depicting a seated geisha by a brass lantern on brown silk ground. The brass label of Nishimura Sozaemon en verso. Housed in a wooden frame with brown silk liner. Sight – 13 1/8" H x 8 7/8" W. Framed – 21 1/4" H x 17" W. Early 20th century. CONDITION: A couple of minor areas of spotting to silk background of image. A couple of areas of staining to matte. Scattered abrasions to frame.
