Japanese watercolor and gouache on paper scroll-format painting, depicting workers engaged in the sewing and embroidery of various Obi and other kimono related textiles. Signature or inscription upper center of image. Later giltwood frame. 14" H x 34-1/2" W sight, 16" H x 36-1/2" W framed. Meiji period, late 19th century. Condition: Light toning and grime; lower edge has a 2" tear and two small areas of water damage, not affecting main image.
