Large decorative Chinese Mongolian ceremonial jeweled dagger and sheath. Ebonized wooden sheath features embossed silver metal mounts, inset with four jade discs carved with dragon designs; also inset semi-precious stones (including coral and turquoise), with applied figural silver dragon handles. Ebonized wood dagger hilt has embossed silver metal mounts, inset with semi-precious stones. Approximately 28 1/2" L. Blade length 11". 20th century. Provenance: Estate of Barbara K. Newton, Chattanooga, TN. Condition: Denting to wooden portion of sheath. Tanish to silver with some scattered missing stones.
