Philadelphia Derringer, .45 caliber. Breech and lock plate marked "Deringer Phila". Checkered walnut stocks, heptagon barrel, German silver mounted, foliate engravings on breech of barrel, bolster, lock plate, hammer, and trigger guard with pineapple finial, plain escutcheons, unmarked shield insert on back strap, bag handle, old ramrod. Barrel length – 4 1/4". Overall length – 8". Early/mid 19th century. Provenance: the collection of Benjamin Dysart, Brentwood, Tennessee. CONDITION: Action is sticky. Stock cracked on left side of barrel extending to trigger guard. Right side of stock cracked from trigger guard to bottom of lock. Nipple battered.
