English mahogany secretary or desk and bookcase, oak secondary wood, two part construction. Top section with carved cornice, two bands of different foliage/floral carved molding divided by a band of dentil molding, above two mullioned doors opening to two shelves. Lower desk section has fall front writing section with bank of pigeonholes and a central prospect door flanked by reeded columns. Prospect section pulls out to reveal hidden document drawers and storage cache. Four thumbnail molded, dovetailed drawers and molded base over ogee bracket feet. Ivory escutcheons. Condition: Fall front broken and repaired with other various patches, restored foot blockings, old repair work to cornice. 80-1/2" H x 36-1/4" W x 19-3/4" D. English, 19th century.
