Massachusetts Tavern Table, white pine and cherry with overhanging top, underside battens dovetailed to top, dovetailed drawer with four turned legs joined by box stretchers near the base, turned feet. Condition – wear to tips of feet, wear to drawer sides, replaced drawer knob. 25-1/2" H x 48" W x 25-1/8" D, American, circa 1740. Provenance: table is from the Old Ordinary, a tavern located in Hingham, Massachusetts, an overnight stop for stage coaches between Plymouth and Boston. A booklet from the Hingham Historical Society which highlights the Old Ordinary Tavern accompanies this lot.
