Charcoal on paper drawing titled "The Tomb of Washington. Mount Vernon VA 1850" depicting Washignton's tomb and the estate and lands surrounding Mount Vernon, Virginia. Signed "M. J. Pierer" in pencil. lower right, embossed seal for the "Bristol Drawing Board", top left. Envelope with two photos of the tomb and the estate, attached en verso. Housed under glass in a wooden frame with faux wood veneer. Drawing – 10 1/8" H x 14 1/4" W. Sight – 9 1/2" H x 13 1/2" W. Framed – 13" H x 17" W. Mid 19th century. Note: This drawing is very similar in composition to a circa 1820 drawing of the Tomb of George Washington, Mt.
