Pair of Classical style porcelain urns, matte purple ground, having polychrome ram's head handles with hand-painted portraits of females to one side and vignette of musical symbols to the other, gilt highlights throughout. Incised V mark to the undersides of both. 12 1/2" H x 11" dia. 12.6 lbs total. European, probably French. Third quarter of 19th century. Provenance: Estate of Lynn Scholl Renau, Louisville, Kentucky. CONDITION: General surface wear, some scratching. Wear and losses to gilt. Bases have been drilled with minimal fracturing.
