Needlework sampler, silk and wool on linen, wide floral border with pink wool roses, alphabet and numbers ending with date "1832", over a large Berlin work panel with basket of flowers and two boys in a garden. Signed "Elizabeth Anne McPherson/July 26". Later molded wood frame. Condition: some staining at lower left side, "32" in "1832" appears to be brighter blue thread. Not examined out of frame. Sight: 16-1/4" W x 17-1/2" H, Framed: 18" W x 19" H. Canadian, mid-19th century. Provenance: Elizabeth Anne McPherson was born July 26, 1832 in Ontario, Canada, and died there February 26, 1904.
