Exhibition label en verso giving a La Jolla, California address for Ms. Hess,accompanied by a 1942 article from the San Diego Tribute Sun about an exhibit of her work at The Art Center in La Jolla and brief biography, also a previous owner's label noting a 1941 acquisition date. Inscribed on back in pencil "Painted winterof 1941." Excellent condition with one small area of flaking at left side. Carved washed wood Newcomb-Macklin style frame bearing a label for the Royal Art Framing Co., New York, minor wear to frame. 30" x 25" canvas size, 37 1/2" x 32 1/2"framed.
