Early and uncommon paint decorated Tennessee dulcimer. Provenance – Arnold family of Bedford Co. Tennessee. The box form has shape molded sides, remants of a molded edge around the top, old iron posts and screws for securing strings, two designed holes on the underside for sound, square nail construction throughout, remnants of the old blue and red paint decoration remains on top and sides. 13 3/4" x 38 1/4" x 4 1/8". Circa 1840. Estimate $500-$600
