Chinese silk robe, worked in shades of apricot, light aqua, cream and navy, with silk and metallic thread-embroidered depictions of flowers, scrolls, fruit, and bats, embellished with small silver rondels and dangling metal charms in the form of fish, fruit and flowers. A dragon is depicted in metallic threads on the front and back sash areas; sash ends in tassels. 55"L. Circa 1900. Provenance Nashville, TN private collector. Condition: Overall good condition with some fading, some scattered areas of light fraying to silk ground (particularly at belt sides), and some detached areas of metallic braid. 3" area of light staining at center waist area. At least one metal rondel is missing (front breast area).
