Newman – 1st Lt.", across chin strap. 4 3/4" H x 11" W x 12" D. 2nd item: One (1) U.S. Army Officer's canvas bedroll with metal buckles, stenciled "James A. Newman./1st Liuet. 51st Inf./U. S. A.", three times, across front. Approximately 114 1/4" H x 96" W. 3rd item: One (1) U.S. Army Signal Corp flag kit, with four flags, two wooden poles, and three metal and wood poles. Two flags inscribed "A. Bernard", one with "M.O. 6th Inf.", lower corner. Housed in a olive canvas bag with metal buckles and shoulder strap. Flags approximately 21 1/2" H x 24" W.
