Sarah Drury to speak on art & antiques at Nashville’s University School on Jan. 18

Sarah Campbell Drury, Vice President for Decorative Arts at Case Antiques Inc., will present “Sorting Through Your Stuff for Art and Antique Treasures” as part of Nashville’s University School Evening Classes Program on Tuesday, Jan. 18 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. Sorting through personal property—household contents, art, antiques, etc.—in a downsizing or estate situation, or even when preparing a yard sale, can be a daunting task. How do you make sure you aren’t throwing out anything valuable? How do you divide things fairly among family members? What will sell well in today’s economy? Ms. Drury, an accredited appraiser (I.S.A. A.M.), will provide examples, resources and tips to help you know what to sell, keep or give away. Find out how the recession has affected the prices of things such as silver, furniture, pottery/porcelain, art and more, and how to research such items. Participants may bring one object or photo of an object for evaluation. Cost of the class is $35, with proceeds benefiting The University School of Nashville. Registration is underway. For a catalog of classes and registration information, visit www.eveningclasses.org or contact Ms. Drury directly at (615) 812-6096.
